What You’ll Do

• Lead the end-to-end development of our Android app, from architecture to deployment and updates

• Implement responsive and intuitive UIs that deliver seamless user experiences

• Integrate the app with our Django backend, using REST APIs and WebSockets

• Own security on the mobile side, including secure data storage, authentication flows, and encrypted communication

• Collaborate with backend engineers to define API contracts and optimize communication between mobile and server

• Manage builds, testing, and release cycles through Play Store or internal distribution

• Handle offline access, caching, background tasks, and graceful error handling

• Monitor and fix performance bottlenecks, crashes, and memory leaks

• Contribute to feature planning and help define product direction from the mobile perspective

Must-Have Skills

• 0–3+ years of experience building Android applications (internships and side-projects welcome)

• Proficiency in Kotlin (Java acceptable) and Android SDK

• Solid understanding of app architecture (MVVM, Clean Architecture, etc.)

• Experience consuming REST APIs and integrating with Django/Python backends

• Working knowledge of WebSocket libraries for real-time updates

• Familiarity with mobile security best practices (SSL pinning, token storage, permission handling)

• Confident in building modern, fluid UIs with Jetpack, Compose, or XML layouts

• Git-based workflow, with the ability to handle branching, reviews, and CI pipelines

• Experience with local data persistence, background sync, and push notifications

Nice-to-Have Skills

• iOS app development (Swift or Flutter) is a strong plus

• Flutter or React Native experience

• Integration with payment SDKs or mobile money platforms

• Experience working with JWT auth, OTP flows, or SSO

• Familiarity with Play Store policies and submission process

• App analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring tools (e.g., Firebase, Sentry)

• Cloud/DevOps experience or certifications (bonus if familiar with Django backend stack)
